Get up to $12,500 in QLD government rebates for your customers business lighting upgrades!

By February 23, 2024No Comments

Do you own an electrical contracting business in QLD?

The Queensland Business Energy Saving and Transformation (QBEST) Rebates initiative offers rebates to qualifying small and medium-sized businesses in Queensland to implement energy-efficient equipment.

The energy-efficient equipment you buy and set up should decrease energy consumption, reduce energy bills for your business, and support the Queensland Government’s carbon reduction objectives.

What rebates are available?

Rebates of up to $12,500 are on offer for eligible businesses that purchase (and install) approved energy-efficient equipment (including LED lighting). Businesses must spend a minimum of $8,000 (excluding GST) on the equipment’s purchase and installation.

The rebate equals 50% of the purchase and installation costs (excluding GST) of the approved equipment. For instance, if you spent $10,000 including GST on eligible equipment, you can claim 50% of the GST exclusive amount ($9,090.90 excluding GST) and would receive a rebate payment of $4,545.45.

Each eligible business is entitled to only one rebate. Nonetheless, a rebate application may encompass several eligible energy-efficient equipment items, as long as the total rebate amount does not surpass $12,500.

Applications will be processed in the order of their submission date, and each round will close once the assigned funding has been utilized.

Eligible assets or upgrades will need to be first used or installed ready for use between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024.
